Join the Orange Community Arts Guild for an extraordinary evening celebrating the life and legacy of a global icon. We are proud to present the official book release and exhibition for "Prince: Black, White, Color" by award-winning photographer and art director Steve Parke.
Having worked as Prince’s in-house art director at Paisley Park for 13 years, Steve Parke held a position of unique trust, capturing the "Visionary" in moments the public rarely saw. This event marks the 10th anniversary of Prince’s passing with a stunning visual chronicle that reveals the artist as never before.
Special Guest Moderator - Mayte Garcia
Mayte Garcia is an American dancer, choreographer, actress, and author, best known for her extensive artistic collaboration and high-profile marriage to music icon Prince. Born in 1973 to Puerto Rican parents, she was recognized as a prodigy and the world's youngest professional belly dancer by age seven. In 1992, she joined Prince's backing band, The New Power Generation (NPG), quickly becoming his creative muse, the inspiration behind his 1992 Love Symbol album, and the subject of his hit song "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World." The couple married in 1996 and endured the tragic loss of their infant son before divorcing in 2000. Beyond her work with Prince, Garcia has achieved independent success, famously choreographing Britney Spears’ iconic 2001 MTV Video Music Awards belly dance routine for "I'm a Slave 4 U," appearing on television shows like Hollywood Exes, and publishing her bestselling 2017 memoir, The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince.
