It’ll be a lovely night on Saturday, January 4th with some rad local ladies performing in one of our favorite local buildings – St. Joseph’s Hall at the Grass Valley Museum and Cultural Center! Doors open at 6:30 pm, and the show starts at 7:00 pm. It’s an all-ages event with a low, low sliding scale ticket price!

KVMRx is pleased to present you with The Stratospheres, who will bring their proto-punk twang, and Am Strand, with their theatrical carnival country. Both grown here in Grass Valley!

Bobbie Sol will enchant with her witchcrafty Americano blues from Sacramento, and Awkward Pocket will give you a warm welcome with their awkward folk/punk out of North San Juan!

Setting the stage for the evening, you’ll hear tunes from two KVMRx djs: The Occupant and DJ Geordie! Beer will be available to purchase, for those of you who are of drinking age, and so inclined. But the whole family is welcome to come partake of the musical offerings!

Curious about who’s putting on this production? What is KVMRx? Now we’re positive that you’re familiar with our darling community radio station, KVMR.  Allow us to acquaint you with their scraggly orphan living in the studio under the stairs. KVMRx was created to provide an opportunity for younger generations in the community to get involved with KVMR, while being given the freedom to break the mold and shatter any preconceived notions of what a radio station should look and sound like.

Some of the most unique, bizarre, genre-breaking shows have come to life here on KVMRx. Exploring anything, from niche genres such as: 90s House, Shoegaze, EBM, K-Pop, 30s Swing, Early Folk Blues, to eclectic shows which compare/contrast different cultures, genres, and time-periods, while still focusing heavily on new music that’s being released today. You can find this musical extravaganza locally in Nevada City/Grass Valley at 105.7 FM, and worldwide at KVMRX.org.
