Something wicked is coming to Royal Oak – with not one witch, but three! This summer Shakespeare Royal Oak will unveil a devilishly original streampunk-style Macbeth from visionary Detroit director Jeffrey Michael Nahan, with all the spirited spells, plots, and revenge the Bard could conjure up right in the middle of Starr Jaycee Park, July 24 through August 3. Steampunk Macbeth will fill your eyes and mind with its unique style, music, and moves to keep you guessing till you cheer its glorious end! So, stab your calendar now to plan your night under the stars with the area’s finest professional theater artists as they reveal the plot of Shakespeare’s finest villain in one of the most feared and loved plays of all time.

Shakespeare Royal Oak is Michigan's largest professional outdoor Shakespeare festival presenting Shakespeare under the stars in Starr Jaycee Park since 2001. Gates to our specially built theatre space open one hour prior to performances with General Admission seating based on your preference. Bring your own blankets or lawn chairs for the performance. Blankets are placed on the lawn close to the stage followed by low-to-the-ground lawn chairs and standard size lawn chairs. Bleacher seating is available around the perimeter of the lawn. Free Parking is available in Starr Jaycee Park just steps from the performance space.
